Moving into an Apartment at 21...

So,

if you've been following me on socials you, will know that my boyfriend and I have just moved into our new apartment! It is literally one of the most exciting things I have ever done and such a huge goal that we have hit so I knew I wanted to blog about it!

Moving in has been wild. We have been preparing for this for months from going to Ikea, countless Argos, Home Bargains and B&M trips... (not complaining.) I have learned so much in such a short space of time and also feel like I have grown up very quickly but I definitely needed that to be able to allow myself to grow.

The Process and Moving in Day

Jack & I were in two minds about buying a flat or renting and straight away I wanted to rent. It was a no brainer for me. I think it's because I don't really know where I want to be within the next 3-5 years and travelling and experiencing life is such a priority for me that I didn't want a mortgage to hold us back at all & I am still very glad we chose to rent but I admire those who buy and know what they want... I'm just too indecisive!

The moving in process was honestly not too bad. Yes, we had to be approved for renting and all that paperwork but, our estate agents actually have quite a good system that removes quite a good chunk of paperwork that you would otherwise have to do with other estate agents.

We actually only had a rooms worth of stuff to pack up so we did the majority of our packing on the morning of the move, all of our other furniture was all ready to go as it was just flat packed Ikea stuff. We picked up the keys on the day of the move at about 11am, had to go through some final paperwork and signing things off but it didn't take any longer than 10 minutes!

Then we were in, honestly I could have cried, we had been waiting for this moment for such a long time and we finally can say we are living in our own home!

The Theme, The Vibes...

I feel as though every home has its own theme, not sure if that's just me? Anyway, our theme is super chill and cosy! I was super excited to just light some candles and wax melts, especially coming into these winter months, it's my favourite time of year! I wanted the vibe to be cute but also inviting, a place where people feel at home the moment they walk in. I know at the moment we aren't allowed to have people over, but when that goes back to normal I want our friends and family to feel like it's a home away from home.

As for the colour scheme, I've made sure that the whole flat on the baby pink and grey vibes. I think it's such a modern look that suits our apartment so well!

Another thing I was sure about having in our space is a lot of greenery. The amount of plants we have in here is honestly on a different level for such little space! We luckily got given so many lovely flowers as moving in presents and I've managed to keep them alive and well, still to this day. If ever I'm out and about at B&M or Asda, I usually pick up a cute little plant. They're actually surprisingly affordable! I actually picked one up earlier for £2.50 that suits our dining table really well.

Lastly, something that has been really important to me is creating a homely smell. I love doing this through wax melts. They're such a great way to keep your home looking homely whilst also releasing beautiful scents. The only place I actually buy my wax melts from is Ava's Dreamwax. This is a local business to me and they stock the most incredible scents ever! I'm currently loving the 'Christmas Cookie' and 'Pine' scents. I have a whole box under my sink dedicated to wax melts...I won't be running out for a very long time! Please check them out on Facebook or Instagram @AvasDreamwax

Currently we have been in our flat for only 2 weeks so not long at all. We are still waiting for our sofa to arrive and Wifi, my phone data has been absolutely rinsed! Once these have arrived our little home will be complete. I am so grateful to be able to be living here and to have somewhere to call home. It is just beyond amazing.

I'm thinking of doing a home series on my blog where I show you all the cute and cool things I pick up along the way! I absolutely love reading blog posts like that so hopefully you will too.

Hope you're all staying safe and I will see you in the next post!

                              Love, Holly x

My Top 5 'Depop' Shops

I have no idea how to start this but thank you for even getting here, just a quick little intro into my first ever blog post. I'm going to be creating content that is solely fashion based to track my own growth and progress but also hopefully creating good content for the people who will actually (hopefully!) read this too. This first post should give you an idea of the styles of clothing and brands that I'm really into.  I believe fully in recycling fashion ''one persons trash is another treasure'' — as some might put it...  I absolutely hate 'fast fashion' and also have no idea how people have the money to keep up with it either! BUT the best app for finding second hand clothing that almost everyone knows about is... 'DEPOP'! I've researched and put together my top 5 best Depop shops to save you from endlessly scrolling through unwanted clothing for hours. 1)  NatWinter_ Whether it's graphic tee's you're af...

Fearne Cotton - Calm (Review)

If you had read my last blog post you would have seen in my photo that I was currently reading Fearne Cotton 'Calm'. Well, around 15 minutes ago I read the final pages and felt a complete inner peace. Essentially, the book is fabulous and it deserves to be shouted about! I had never read a book by Fearne Cotton but her style of writing and way with words is truly amazing. She explores deep into topics that affect and improve our calm and stillness and what we can do to improve or maintain this, depending on your own circumstances. A word that really stood out to me throughout this helpful guide was the word ' Chaos '. Fearne explores the way in which we are all living in chaos and completely forgetting about our calm moments and taking time out for ourselves... Chaos is different for everybody as we all have our own individuality and quirks but, we do tend to be all in agreement with certain concepts deemed as chaotic! For example, my chaos could be spending a j...
