Things You can Do Whilst Being at Home...

Due to the recent circumstances of COVID-19 we are all currently being asked to stay indoors and only leave the house when essential or for one hour of exercise...

But, self isolating isn't all bad... We should take these moments of being indoors to really work a lot more on ourselves where we can.

These next tips are things I have been doing in the past couple of weeks of staying indoors (Whilst not at work)... I hope this helps!

  • Listening to the radio and upbeat podcasts -  Radio 1 for example, they are really trying to make a conscious effort to keep things light hearted with funny conversations & great music whilst also acknowledging peoples anxieties and concerns.
  • Keep a gratitude journal - I already keep a little notebook listing what I feel grateful for, almost, each day but if you don't you should start! it keeps you busy for a good 10 minutes and really gets your mind actively engaging. Also take notes of goals you want to get done by the end of the year!
  • Go through your clothes and accessories and make some £££ - Go through your clothes, accessories and see what you can sell on Depop or other selling sites! if not grab a bag and donate it to charity (Once we are allowed back outside of course!)
  • Make a playlist of happy songs - Music can alter your mood massively! by creating a anti anxiety, calm & happy playlist you can literally have such a better day just by listening to it... don't underestimate the power of music
  • Write a Blog or Start up a Youtube Channel - People are having the most time right now to sit and read or watch some videos. Take your opportunity and look on the bright side of things
  • Plan a list of things you want to do once all this blows over - I've already got: city breaks, days out and seeing family planned. Once this is all over this will help you to appreciate and remember not to waste your days ... it's so easy to forget what we have until it has been taken away!
  • Learn a new skill - Businesses are suffering right now. But, take this time to extend your knowledge in a subject that could help you in the future or you hold an interest in! For example, get yourself on an online course in Nail extensions, Gel nails, Eyelash extensions etc. This could help you make a bit extra £££ if your work is suffering. You could even start learning how to make clothes... possibilities are endless!
  • Rearrange your room - Spending so much time somewhere can make you feel insane, by rearranging or organising a few things around can help you feel as though you are in a different environment and help you feel a bit more productive in a time like this.
  • Read: Books, Blogs and maybe start writing yourself - Reading is such a great way to be actively engaging your brain and learning new things. Trying to avoid news articles at the moment is probably best, although do stay informed. I also find, writing is such a great way for me to feel more productive and do more with my day... helps keep my mental health well, which is always a bonus.
  • Cook - Whilst not trying to eat all of your quarantine food you bought, try and get yourself cooking meals that are going to make you feel healthier and not all sluggish (EXAMPLE: don't eat a plate full of Turkey Dinosaurs, Nuggets & Chips because I can confirm it has made me feel disgusting) It will help with productivity
  • An 'At home' work out - Since we have all been advised to stay home where we can, I have seen so many different gym Instagram accounts creating short little 'at home' workouts. I even saw one this morning involving a tea towel! It's a time for people to really get creative. I have recently bought Ariana Ajtar's BBG guide and it is incredible!
  • Netflix & Chill - The most obvious one... I'm sure everyone has been catching up on their fave series but I had to include it. I've missed out of 8 weeks of Riverdale so I spent most of my day watching that. It does give you a nice sense of achievement when you finish a series & I love it.
  • Deep Cleaning - It goes without saying that we should be cleaning our personal spaces anyway. However, during this time it may be a good idea to really take the time to deep clean areas. Pull out draws, disinfect surfaces and make it fun! Play your music, I find using really nice Zoflora smells makes me want to clean more because I just cannot get enough of the smell, that weird?
  • Make Pinterest Boards -  Seems really bizarre BUT hear me out... Make boards of either: your Vision's, Fashion, Hair, Nails etc Just keep yourself in a creative mindset, I cannot stress this enough! Staying indoors all this time is really going to be de motivating but it's up to you to keep yourself busy and actively searching for new creativity
  • Find Interesting creatives / content creators that you enjoy -  I tend to find people through Instagram & other people reposting people but find: nice layouts, people that really capture a part of you and interest you. I've found so many people that inspire my style, thoughts and motivate me. Social media doesn't have to be all bad, had a sort out of who you follow, if they don't increase positive vibes. UNFOLLOW
  • Practise yoga! - After doing a live yoga session on Nasty Gal's Instagram last week, I have fallen in love with yoga. I practise it at least once a day and even wake up early to fit it in!

So that concludes my list. I hope everyone is staying safe and going by what the government is telling you as it is changing all of the time the worst this gets! We are all in this together and the quicker we work together and stay in the quicker we can all go outside again.

Keep motivated and be kind to yourself and others.

My Top 5 'Depop' Shops

I have no idea how to start this but thank you for even getting here, just a quick little intro into my first ever blog post. I'm going to be creating content that is solely fashion based to track my own growth and progress but also hopefully creating good content for the people who will actually (hopefully!) read this too. This first post should give you an idea of the styles of clothing and brands that I'm really into.  I believe fully in recycling fashion ''one persons trash is another treasure'' — as some might put it...  I absolutely hate 'fast fashion' and also have no idea how people have the money to keep up with it either! BUT the best app for finding second hand clothing that almost everyone knows about is... 'DEPOP'! I've researched and put together my top 5 best Depop shops to save you from endlessly scrolling through unwanted clothing for hours. 1)  NatWinter_ Whether it's graphic tee's you're af...

Moving into an Apartment at 21...

So,  if you've been following me on socials you, will know that my boyfriend and I have just moved into our new apartment! It is literally one of the most exciting things I have ever done and such a huge goal that we have hit so I knew I wanted to blog about it! Moving in has been wild. We have been preparing for this for months from going to Ikea, countless Argos, Home Bargains and B&M trips... (not complaining.) I have learned so much in such a short space of time and also feel like I have grown up very quickly but I definitely needed that to be able to allow myself to grow.  The Process and Moving in Day Jack & I were in two minds about buying a flat or renting and straight away I wanted to rent. It was a no brainer for me. I think it's because I don't really know where I want to be within the next 3-5 years and travelling and experiencing life is such a priority for me that I didn't want a mortgage to hold us back at all & I am still very glad we chose t...

Fearne Cotton - Calm (Review)

If you had read my last blog post you would have seen in my photo that I was currently reading Fearne Cotton 'Calm'. Well, around 15 minutes ago I read the final pages and felt a complete inner peace. Essentially, the book is fabulous and it deserves to be shouted about! I had never read a book by Fearne Cotton but her style of writing and way with words is truly amazing. She explores deep into topics that affect and improve our calm and stillness and what we can do to improve or maintain this, depending on your own circumstances. A word that really stood out to me throughout this helpful guide was the word ' Chaos '. Fearne explores the way in which we are all living in chaos and completely forgetting about our calm moments and taking time out for ourselves... Chaos is different for everybody as we all have our own individuality and quirks but, we do tend to be all in agreement with certain concepts deemed as chaotic! For example, my chaos could be spending a j...
